Before you buy from Sanlam Allianz in Tanzania

1. Check that the policy is issued by one of the companies above — the licensed entity, not only the brand.
2. For motor cover, verify a cover note or the company itself on TIRAMIS.
3. Ask for the schedule and the exclusions in writing, and compare them with at least one other insurer.
4. Keep in mind the claim rule that applies to every insurer: the insurer must pay within 45 days of the signed discharge, extendable once by 45 days (Insurance Act s.131).
5. If something goes wrong, complain to the insurer, then to the Tanzania Insurance Ombudsman (disputes up to TZS 40 million).
