Before you buy from MUA in Tanzania
- Check that the policy is issued by one of the companies above — the licensed entity, not only the brand.
- For motor cover, verify a cover note or the company itself on TIRAMIS.
- Ask for the schedule and the exclusions in writing, and compare them with at least one other insurer.
- Keep in mind the claim rule that applies to every insurer: the insurer must pay within 45 days of the signed discharge, extendable once by 45 days (Insurance Act s.131).
- If something goes wrong, complain to the insurer, then to the Tanzania Insurance Ombudsman (disputes up to TZS 40 million).
