Short answerChecked 31 October 2026
The RSSB medical scheme, still widely called RAMA, is the public medical insurance for employees whose employer has joined it. It costs 15% of the employee's basic salary, paid 7.5% by the employer and 7.5% by the employee. RSSB pays 85% of the cost of eligible medical services and prescribed medicines; the member pays the other 15%. An employer must have at least seven employees to enrol.
