Before you buy from SONARWA in Rwanda
- Check that the policy is issued by one of the companies above — the licensed entity, not only the brand.
- For motor cover, check the insurer on the National Bank of Rwanda's list of licensed insurers, and the broker on its list of licensed brokers, before you pay.
- Ask for the schedule and the exclusions in writing, and compare them with at least one other insurer.
- Keep in mind the claim rule that applies to every insurer: once the insurer admits liability it must pay within one month of all requirements being met and the amount agreed, and a rejection must be explained in writing within 10 working days (Law n° 030/2021, articles 122 and 123).
- If something goes wrong, complain to the insurer in writing first, then to the National Bank of Rwanda (INTUMWA chatbot, WhatsApp +250 791 700 721 or SMS 6005).
